I played it safe today and skipped my run. Been concentrating on proper stretching and giving time for the knee to heal. I caught up with good reading on Marathon injuries from the Net and learnt the importance of good warm up and proper stretching ...both pre and post running....which is something I have been neglecting. I've also been receiving good words of advice and encouragement from Daniel Vaz who is a marathoner himself. It's good to know people support you in your endeavour.

This could possibly scuttle my aspirations for a marathon run. The pain on my right knee had gotten worse after my run on sunday morning. I had planned to run the 20 kms distance but after the 13th kilometers I knew I shouldn't continue to punish my knee. I played it safe and stopped there. Thankfully, a qualified doctor is part of the team training for the Marathon and he was helpful in advicing me on some good physiotherapic exercises. I do really hope these would help me heal faster. My heart wills but my body doesn't. Damn ! But am not going to give up.
